These Gymnocalycium mihanovichii hybrids are cacti that have beautiful colors. They get these beautiful colors because there are no or few chloroplasts in the plants. In order to grow well, the upper part, which is a hybrid of the Gymnocalycium mihanovichii, has been grafted onto a rootstock of the Hylocereus trigonus. This rootstock does have chloroplasts and is responsible for photosynthesis.
