Information

The Gymnocalycium Ragonesei is a beautiful symmetrical cactus. In nature, the Gymnocalycium Ragonesei occurs in a very small area near Catamarca in Argentina. Here the Gymnocalycium Ragonesei grows in sandy grasslands. During the rest period when little water falls, this cactus withdraws completely or partially into the ground. The Gymnocalycium Ragonesei has become a rare cactus in nature. Due to its appearance, it is very popular and is illegally stolen from nature.

Fortunately, the Gymnocalycium Ragonesei is occasionally also grown in culture. This preserves these beautiful cacti. The Gymnocalycium Ragonesei blooms several times a year from June to September. The flower buds grow from the halos of the cactus. The flowers of the Gymnocalycium Ragonesei are white in color and grow up to 7 cm in size. They produce a slightly sweet color.

Gymnocalycium Ragonesei is a solitary cactus that rarely or never produces new shoots. The plant body of this cactus is gray-brown in color and the spines are white in color. This together gives this Gymnocalycium Ragonesei its characteristic appearance.
