Information

The Lithops Aucampiae is a beautiful lithops species with a beautiful pattern on top of its leaves. The Lithops Aucampiae occurs naturally in an area between Hopetown and Vrybrug in South Africa. This is a very arid desert-like area. The Lithops Aucampiae grows here in a mineral-rich sandy gravel soil. It rarely rains in this area in a year. This makes the Lithops Aucampiae resistant to long periods of drought.

In autumn, Lithops Aucampiae blooms from the middle between the two leaves, producing bright yellow flowers.

General information Lithops living stones

Lithops species bloom in autumn with white or yellow flowers that appear from the stones. Once a year the stones change their leaves. The outer part comes loose and a new plant grows from the middle. The new living stones eventually become larger than the previous ones. So don't be alarmed if the stone suddenly splits open and a new stone comes out. There they grow in sandy soil and are difficult to find. This is because the Lithops species largely withdraw into the sand during dry periods, leaving only the top of the two leaves visible.
