The Mammillaria microthele var. superfina is a beautiful cactus species that occurs naturally in Mexico. Here this cactus mainly grows on limestone slopes. This cactus has a dark green color and is protected all around by many fine but sharp white spines. The superfina variant differs from Mammillaria microthele by its smaller tubercles and fine spines.

The Mammillaria microthele var. superfina has a thick root in which this cactus can store a lot of water to survive a long period of drought.

The Mammillaria microthele var. superfina is an easy-flowering cactus species. She does this with us in the spring and summer. Often several times. Many white flowers grow around the head of the cactus. When these flowers are pollinated, bright red seed berries grow.

When this cactus overwinters in completely dry soil, the Mammillaria microthele var. superfina can tolerate temperatures down to -10°C.
