The Orbea dummeri is a beautiful carrion flower species that occurs in East Africa. Here this Orbea grows in various dry forest areas, often on hillsides in the south of Kenya, the north of Tanzania, the south of Uganda and in the east of Congo.

The Orbea dummeri produces short, upright growing trunks that are toothed along the sides of the ribs. The stems have a fresh green color with a pattern from gray-green to green-purple on them. The intensity of this pattern depends on the amount of sun that this Orbea dummeri receives.

If the Orbea dummeri is happy with you, it will bloom at the end of the summer. Her flowers appear from the side of the stems. The flowers are shaped like a starfish and are bright yellow in color. The petals also all have white-yellow short thick hairs.
