The Aloe Polyhylla is a beautiful Aloe species that occurs naturally in the Maluti Mountains in Lesotho. Aloe Polyhylla plants have also been seen in the Drakenberg area. The Aloe Polyhylla is known for its spiral growth. When the plants get older, the leaves start to bend to the left or right. This creates a beautiful spiral of green leaves. This growth habit has given the Aloe Polyhylla the nickname Spiral Aloe.

The leaves of the Aloe have a fresh green color. Young Aloe plants still have a grayish glow on the leaves. The Aloe grows naturally in mountain areas at altitudes up to 3400 meters. This allows them to withstand cold temperatures. Old plants are sometimes even covered in snow in nature, because they grow right up to the snow line.

The Aloe Polyhylla is not a slow grower. If you put her outside from April to October, she will really appreciate this. A sunny place outside ensures that the plants grow nicely. The sun also ensures that the plant grows earlier and more beautifully in a spiral. The Aloe Polyhylla can eventually grow into a large plant of up to 80 cm in diameter.

When the Aloe Polyhylla is happy with you, a large flower stem will appear from the heart of the plant. This can grow up to 70 cm high. All red to salmon pink bell-shaped flowers hang from the flower stem.
