Information

The Cipocereus Bradei is a beautiful green and blue colored column cactus that occurs naturally in the state of Minas Gerais in Brazil. Here the Cipocereus Bradei grows in rocky areas in mineral-rich soil. In this area there are 5 known populations, each with 50 to 200 cacti. Due to deforestation for agricultural areas, you see this beautiful column cactus less and less in nature.

The Cipocereus Bradei can grow into a nice tree of 1 to 3.5 meters and regularly produces new side arms from the base. The spines are black in color and at the top of the plant, light small white hairs can be seen between the newly grown spines.

The Cipocereus Bradei is a richly flowering cactus. In order to bloom, this cactus must be at least 60 cm high and receive a lot of heat during spring and summer. In summer, beautiful flowers appear from the side of this cactus, which can grow up to 8 cm long and 4 cm wide. The outside of the flowers is dark blue and the inside is white.
