The Crassula barbata is a unique Crassula species that occurs naturally in the southwest of the great Karoo desert. Here the Crassula barbata often grows under the shelter of other plants.

The Crassula barbata has dark green leaves that grow close together in a beautiful symmetrical shape. The edges of the leaves of this Crassula are covered with fine white hairs. This gives the Crassula barbata its unique and beautiful appearance.

The Crassula barbata is a very slow growing Crassula species. Eventually it grows into a rosette of 25-30 cm. When the Crassula barbata has reached this size after many years, it will bloom. A large cluster of small pink-white flowers grows from the heart of the plant.
