Information

The Euphorbia Caput-medusae is a truly characteristic Euphorbia succulent. The Euphorbia genus has many different growth forms. Including some caudex-forming species. The Euphorbia Caput-medusae belongs below. In nature, the Euphorbia Caput-medusae occurs in the Cape region from Namaqualand to Mosselbay in South Africa.

The growth shape of this Euphorbia resembles a medusa head. This is why this nice plant has been given the name The Euphorbia Caput-medusae. The Euphorbia Caput-medusae makes its tentacles from the middle part of the plant. Small yellow flowers also appear on these shoots in autumn and winter. In addition to flowers, small leaves of a few millimeters in size also grow. These wither over time and fall off. The main plant of the Euphorbia Caput-medusae has a large taproot in which it can store a lot of water to survive a long period of drought. The root and plant have largely retreated into the ground. In nature this is sometimes not even visible at all. This promotes growth and protects the plant against extreme heat.
