The Gymnocalycium mihanovichii is a beautiful cactus species that occurs naturally in western Uruguay. Here this cactus grows in sandy savanna-like areas. The Gymnocalycium mihanovichii is very variable in color. They can color from purple, pink, green to brown. The Gymnocalycium mihanovichii also has light stripes on its ribs.

The Gymnocalycium mihanovichii is an easy bloomer. If this cactus likes it with you, it will do so several times a summer. The pink-purple flowers grow from the upper spines. The flowers of the Gymnocalycium mihanovichii remain open for several days and spread a slightly sweet scent.
