The Huernia zebrina subs. Insigniflora is a beautiful carrion flower species that occurs in the north of South Africa. Here this Huernia species grows between granite stones at an altitude of 1300 to 1850 meters. The Huernia zebrina subs. Insigniflora grows in one of the highest areas of the Huernia Zebrina subspecies.
The Huernia zebrina subs. Insigniflora is green-gray in color. Each trunk has four or five serrated ribs and grows to about 4 inches (10 cm) long. The Huernia zebrina subs branches from the bottom of the trunk. Insigniflora several times.
