This beautiful variant of the Lithops Karasmontana is known for the intense red color of the pattern on top of the leaf. The Red Tops variant is a cultivated form that has extra red leaves. The flowers of the Lithops Karasmontana red tops are satin white in color and can reach a diameter of 4.5 cm. The flowers usually open in autumn and early winter.

An adult plant of Lithops Karasmontana red tops reaches a diameter of 2.5 to 3 cm. This will take several years. This Lithops species is known for growing slowly.

Lithops species bloom in autumn with white or yellow flowers that appear from the stones. Once a year the stones change their leaves. The outer part comes loose and a new plant grows from the middle. There they grow in sandy soil and are often difficult to find. This is because the Lithops species often largely withdraw into the sand during dry periods, leaving only the top of the two leaves visible.
