Information

The Lithops Sallicola is one of the easiest Lithops species. She grows quickly and makes larger clusters of plants. In nature, the Lithops Sallicola occurs in a large area in South Africa. There are some differences in the color of the leaves per location. The Lithops Sallicola at site C034 near the town of Luckhoff have a browner copper color, while the plants at site C0037 near Hopetown have a grayer color. As a result, the Lithops Sallicola vary in appearance. They all bloom white. In autumn the flowers of the Lithops Sallicola appear between the leaves. They smell slightly sweet and bloom for a few days

General information Lithops succulent

Lithops species bloom in autumn with white or yellow flowers that appear from the stones. Once a year the stones change their leaves. The outer part comes loose and a new plant grows from the middle. The new living stones eventually become larger than the previous ones. So don't be alarmed if the stone suddenly splits open and a new stone comes out. There they grow in sandy soil and are often difficult to find. This is because the Lithops species often largely withdraw into the sand during dry periods, leaving only the top of the two leaves visible.
