Information

The Adenium Obesum is a beautiful green caudex plant that also retains many leaves during the rest period. Each Adenium Obesum plant is unique and produces its own shaped caudex. This means that no two plants are the same and you get a characteristic appearance per plant. The Adenium Obesum can also be used as a bonsai due to its beautiful shapes.

In nature, the Adenium Obesum occurs on the island of Socotra and in northeastern parts of Africa. Where the Adenium Obesum grows, the area is very dry. To survive long periods of drought, the Adenium Obesum stores a lot of moisture in its thick trunk. In nature, the Adenium Obesum can grow into baobab-like trees of up to 5 meters.

The flowers do not appear at a fixed time of the year. If they are happy with you and get enough warmth and light, they can bloom several times a year. The beautiful red-purple flowers then appear at the top of the stems. The flowers can grow up to 5 cm in diameter.

The Adenium Obesum also has a number of Dutch nicknames, namely the desert rose and impal lily.
