The Astrophytum Myriostigma onzuka is a beautiful cultivar of the Astrophytum Myriostigma that you do not often encounter. This Astrophytum cultivar originated from breeding of certain plants in a Japanese nursery.

Just like the regular Astrophytum Myriostigma, the Astrophytum Myriostigma onzuka has small dots spread over the entire plant. However, the spots on the Astrophytum Myriostigma onzuka are more intensely white and there are often more of them. This gives the Astrophytum Myriostigma onzuka its unique appearance. When this cactus grows larger, a white V stripe appears on the areoles.

The Astrophytum Myriostigma onzuka blooms easily and does this several times in the spring and summer when the plant is happy with you. Its yellow flowers grow from the head of the cactus.
