Conophytum is een geslacht van kleine, compacte succulenten die behoren tot de familie Aizoaceae. Ze zijn afkomstig uit Zuid-Afrika en Namibië en staan bekend om hun unieke, bolvormige of hartvormige bladeren die vaak in paren groeien. Deze planten hebben een opmerkelijke aanpassing aan droge omstandigheden: tijdens de rustperiode drogen de buitenste bladeren in en vormen ze een beschermend omhulsel voor de nieuwe groei.
