The Echinocactus Grussonii is a beautiful ball cacti and also one of the most famous cacti. Although this cactus is well known in culture, it is unfortunately rare to find this cactus in the wild.

In nature, the Echinocactus Grussonii occurs in Central Mexico, from San Luis Potosi to Hidalgo. Here it is almost impossible to find anymore due to human actions. The Echinocactus Grussonii had to make way for cities and agriculture here.

In the Netherlands, the Echinocactus Grussonii is not only known by its Latin name but also as grandmother's chair. This nickname actually needs no explanation. Just sit on it.

Not only the thorns of this impressive cactus are yellow. When the Echinocactus Grussonii has a diameter of 30 cm, it can start flowering. Smaller specimens of this cactus do not bloom. If you place the Echinocactus Grussonii in a bright sunny spot from spring to summer, it can reward you with beautiful yellow flowers in the summer. These flowers appear in a circle from the head of the cactus and smell wonderful.
