Information

The Eriosyce subgibbosa f. prolifera is a beautiful cactus that likes to produce many new shoots.

This cactus has a dark green color with thin light to dark brown spines that grow upwards from its white areoles. The prolifera variant of this Eriosyce produces a large number of new side shoots. Many times more than the normal Eriosyce subgibbosa. These side shoots grow from the areoles halfway down the cactus. When they have a diameter of about 2 cm you can remove them for cuttings. You can also leave them on so that over time you will have a nice full cluster of this cactus.

The Eriosyce subgibbosa f. prolifera is an easy bloomer. This cactus does this to us in the summer. Its elongated bright purple flowers grow from the head of the cactus.
