The Ferocactus Stainesii is a beautiful robust ball cactus with red spines. In nature, this impressive ball cactus occurs in a widespread area in Mexico. In nature, this cactus can grow into a real giant of up to 3 m. When this cactus is about 30 cm wide, it slowly starts to grow in height, eventually becoming a large column.

The plant body of the Ferocactus Stainesii is dark green in color. This makes the contrast beautiful with the bright red spines. The flowers of the Ferocactus Stainesii are beautiful and appear from the head of the cactus. They range from yellow to red in color and are approximately 2.5 cm long. The Ferocactus Stainesii can start flowering at a diameter of 20 cm. This cactus needs a bright spot to bloom. This means it is best to place it outside in the summer to promote flowering. When the flowers are fertilized, this cactus produces 4 cm large yellow edible fruits. The locals also eat the flowers of this cactus for consumption. They dip them in sugar flour and then bread them.
