Information

The Huernia keniensis is a beautiful carrion flower species that occurs naturally in a large area in Kenya and northern Tanzania. Here the Huernia keniensis grows on rocky areas at an altitude of 1500 to 2000 meters.

The Huernia keniensis has fresh green stems with small teeth along the sides. The top of the trunks turns a red-purple color when this Huernia gets a lot of sun. The Huernia keniensis often produces many side shoots from the side and can thus grow into a large cluster of up to 50 cm in diameter.

The Huernia keniensis is an easy bloomer and usually does this at the beginning of autumn. Her bell-shaped dark red flowers appear from the side.
