Information

The Orbea Schinzii is a special carrion flower species that occurs naturally in Namibia, Botswana and in the south of Angola. Here the Orbea Schinzii grows in dry forest areas in the shade of other plants. The stems of the Orbea Schinzii have a beautiful dark green color. Orbea Schinzii (Stapelia) makes many branches from the bottom of the stem and can eventually grow into a large cluster of up to 1 meter in diameter.

The flowers of the Orbea Schinzii can become very large for a Stapelia species. On older plants the flowers can grow up to 20 cm in diameter. The flowers of the Orbea Schinzii are star-shaped and have a dark red-purple color.
