Information

The Stenocactus coptonogonus is a beautiful cactus species that occurs naturally in a widespread area in Mexico. Here this cactus grows in mineral-rich and volcanic soil. The Stenocactus coptonogonus is green-gray in color and has impressive spines. These can become quite large, are brown in color and grow slightly curved upwards. In nature, these spines ensure that animals do not step on the plants.

The Stenocactus coptonogonus blooms here in the spring. Then beautiful flowers appear at the head of the plant. These are white in color with a purple stripe in the center of the petal.

The Stenocactus coptonogonus is an exception to the Stenocactus genus with its appearance. It does not produce several wavy thin ribs, but only a few thick ribs.
